Naturopathic Care for Burnout & Stress
If you're waking up already tired, running on caffeine, moving from one thing to the next without ever quite catching up, and rest doesn't seem to fix any of it, you're describing something real.
Burnout isn't a mindset problem, it's what happens when the body has been carrying more, for longer, than what we were built to carry, and it starts showing up in ways that are hard to ignore.
I work with people across Kitchener-Waterloo, and online across Ontario, who are living with burnout, chronic stress, and the tangled physical symptoms that come with them, and who want a realistic plan to slowly find their way back to themselves.
What you might be experiencing
Burnout looks different from person to person, but the patterns often overlap. Some of what I hear from patients includes:
-
Fatigue that doesn't improve with sleep or a weekend off
-
Feeling "wired but tired"
-
Exhausted, but unable to slow down or fall asleep easily
-
Waking up in the night with difficulty getting back to sleep, or waking without feeling rested
-
Brain fog, forgetfulness, or difficulty making decisions
-
Anxiety, irritability, or a shorter fuse than usual
-
A flatter mood or feeling disconnected
-
Headaches, tension, jaw clenching, or ongoing muscle tightness
-
Digestive changes - bloating, appetite shifts, or unpredictable bowel patterns
-
Hormonal changes, cycle irregularities, or worsened PMS
-
Getting sick more often, or taking longer to recover
-
The sense that you're "coping"
These symptoms are real, and they're the body's way of telling you that the current pace isn't sustainable.
How I work with burnout and stress
My approach is to look at what the body is actually doing under chronic stress, not just quiet the symptoms. Burnout affects the nervous system, hormones, digestion, sleep, immune function, and daily energy in interconnected ways, and pulling only one lever rarely creates lasting change.
That starts with time: asking questions, listening, and understanding what your day, your workload, your sleep, your nutrition, and your recovery actually look like right now.
Where it's helpful, I use blood work and lab testing to look at markers like thyroid function, iron, vitamin D, B12, blood sugar patterns, and other pieces that quietly influence energy and mood. Sometimes stress will show up in labs; sometimes the labs are "normal" and the deeper work is elsewhere. Either way, testing is available when it adds understanding.
From there, I build a plan that's realistic and grounded, usually a combination of:
-
Foundational nutrition and blood sugar support
-
Sleep and circadian rhythm strategies
-
Support for the nervous system and stress response
-
Herbal and supplement support
-
Small, sustainable shifts in daily rhythms, not a total life overhaul
-
Ongoing adjustments as your body responds
We start with what will give you the most return for the least cost to your energy. Rest is part of the plan, not something you have to earn.
What care looks like
A first visit is 60 minutes to go over the full picture of what you're carrying and what you've already tried. Follow-up visits are focused on what's shifting and what needs adjusting.
Appointments are available in-person in Waterloo or online across Ontario by video or phone, whichever fits your life. Lab requisitions, supplement recommendations, and follow-up plans are all handled through a secure online portal.
Is this a fit for you?
This kind of care tends to suit people who:
-
Have been running on empty for a long time and want a real plan
-
Are tired of piecing together online advice
-
Want supportive and realistic help that is tailored to their body and current lifestyle
What success actually looks like
I want you to leave understanding what your body is asking for, knowing what refills you and what depletes you, and having a plan you can actually work with in the life you’re already living. Burnout recovery is about building a plan of real tools and supports, and the awareness you grow alongside them is often the most durable part of the work.
